About this tool

How does upside down text work?

Each letter, number and punctuation mark is swapped for a standard Unicode character that looks like it's been flipped 180°. The character order is also reversed, so when the whole string is read upside down, it appears the right way round again.

What's the difference from mirrored text?

Upside down text flips each character vertically and reverses the order. Mirrored text swaps each character for a backwards look-alike but keeps the original reading order — like text held up to a mirror.

Is my text stored anywhere?

No. All conversion happens in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is stored. Close the tab and your text is gone.

Why do some characters not convert?

Unicode doesn't include a flipped or mirrored equivalent for every character. Letters, digits and punctuation without a good match pass through unchanged.
